About Us
The Band Quest has an urge to spread the joy of music to all walks of life. We as a music unit, like to explore all forms of music, no matter what may prevail. Our unity as a group lets us combine music templates that will keep you on the dance floor for hours. The journey we take now brings us to the present, you should catch our next show to get a feel of our energy and a taste of what the Jacksonville music scene has been missing for some time… It’s all about having fun…..

History
The band history has many angles, any musician who has been in a band can relate. We have all been around the music industry most of our lives and continue to do so because we enjoy it. Everyone has a dream and at some point the priority is to get signed, that almighty record deal ( Right On ). This stress sometimes can take away from the reason you started to play in the first place; BECAUSE YOU LOVED IT. The reasons could be a variety of things, an outlet for stress, a hobby, the pure love of playing an instrument. The “Reason” at a point in a musician’s career can get clouded very easily. We have made it a point during this time in our lives not to do so; we just go out and play having fun in the process. Jim, Phil, Tony, and Paul hope to keep the forward momentum rolling for as long as we can. Alright you want the whole story, well here it goes to the best of my knowledge. The band started out with Jim Kelly ( Guitar, Lead Vocal ), Richard Dean ( Drums ) and Aaron Jenkins ( Bass ). The band played around Jacksonville, doing covers and original music at local venues as gigs presented opertunity. A year or so later Phil joined the band as an additional guitar player, filling in the gap for the band to give a more full sound. The Quest band was a full unit and the discussion of adding a keyboard player was talked about for some time, you know, to give extra boost, but a discussion was all it ever was. The year passed (2004), Richard Dean decided to leave the band for his own personal reasons to pursue life goals and at that time Phil stepped up and took over the role of drummer. Jim, Phil and Aaron continued to play shows, private parties when requested and had a great time doing so. Another year passed, and Quest found light in a musician named Mike Fabanino who played guitar and filled the void with Quest in order to get a more full sound. Time once again passed and Quest had been challenged with the loss of a bass player only to avail with Mike Fabarino taking over as bass player. Quest played some gigs and had a transition phase that I hope we never cross again ( it was a difficult time for Quest)… In 2005, Quest went on a hiatus, which caused Jim and Phil to go into a writing an recording mode, not playing any gigs, just devising a plan for the following year. Mike Fabarino was not a returning member, and was sorely missed. At this point in 2006, Phil and Jim went on search of a bass player and found a few possible candidates but no definite additions were found. In the middle of 2006 (Aug), Jim & Phil found refuge in a bass player named Tony Fishborne, a skilled bass player from the Island of Splif in the heartland of Jamaica. Toward the end of 2006, Quest found opportunity knocking when we were introduced to a keyboard player named Paul Betters, Paul joined the band in Febuary of 2008, Quest is currently on the road and in the studio working with Paul to start production on the new Quest album.

Future Goals
The band is currently playing shows, and also doing some recording for a new album, compliments of Stealth Records ( New Label ). The goal is to play until we cannot play anymore and have a blast in the process.
